Ashley’s Lingerie Shower

May 7th 2011

I love hosting parties. I have done baby showers for my friends and family so I was more than excited to do my best friends lingerie shower!!! I did everything in hot pink/ light pink and zebra print… Some frugally recycled from some baby shower décor. J

On the menu: Dill Chicken Salad, Vegetables wih Ranch, Potato Chips. For dessert we had A Chocolate Fountain with Pretzel Rods, Marshmellows, Cream Puffs, and Strawberries for dipping! I made the zebra print cake to keep with the theme. Pink Lemonade was the beverage which is very girly for this kind of shower.

The Games!! From conservative to sultry, this panty guessing game was fun and it was interesting to find out who brought what!

The lingerie was GORGEOUS! But thanks to me. The happy couple has a sign to keep people from disturbing the ending to their perfect day!

Congrats Ashley and Neil! Have a wonderful honeymoon and a blessed Marriage!

The importance of being Walls…

April 30th, 2011
The importance of being Walls…
When I met my fiancé he had a different name. This is quite unusual for a man right?  A woman changes her name not the man. Well for the typical person this may be true. But for this atypical soon to be married couple it’s ideal. A typical couple dates, gets married, lives together, and then has children. Well seeing we moved in together in 2009, had our first child in 2011, and we will be getting married in 2013. We are not the typical couple but we have not exactly led the most typical lives. My fiancé s real father has not been a major part in his life. The person however that has been apart of his life and still very much is bears the name of Walls. For years the topic of a name change was under discussion but for whatever reason it never happened. When we got pregnant with our daughter the fate of her name seemed inevitable. A name is just a name… Right?  A name is just not a name. A name is our lineage. My fiancé wanted to change his name for his daughter and I don’t blame him. But I was surprised when I started receiving criticism for my fiancé’s name change. I suppose being twenty six and changing your name does seem odd and yes our daughter will more than likely change her name when she is married but for the time being we wanted her to have a name she can be proud of. A name she shares with her grandmother, her aunt and uncle, and the man her daddy has called dad for all these years. For those of you who think a name is just a name … I didn’t ask for your opinion nor do I want it. And as I enter into a new chapter in my life that seems somewhat unconventional to you, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I write my own book and I know the Importance of being Walls…
